book recommendation

So i picked up "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" yesterday by Gregory Maguire, and somehow, despite the responsibilities of school i was able to finish the book today. I really liked the book. I would recommend it to most anyone. It takes the tale of Cinderella and writes a more likely story. Unlike the Grimms tales, which can be very grim at times but also definately have a happy ending, this story is much closer to the realities of life. I won't say more on that point because i do not want to ruin it for you. It has an interesting take on good and evil and has much on beauty vs. plain vs. ugly. So read the book! Now i have to read the rest of this author's stuff.
